Caterpillars and butterflies in Room 16

Welcome to our blog for 2008. We are a Year 5 and 6 class at Long Bay Primary School here on the North Shore of Auckland in New Zealand. In Room 16 we have been keeping caterpillars. We have also been learning about diaries. So we have decided to keep a caterpillar's diary. Keep checking to see how the caterpillars are getting on. We also complete a sudoku in class each week to keep our brain active. Try one when you check our blog out and tell us what you think.

March 19th

Dear Diary,

I am very hounoured to receive this stupid diary. I hate writing diaries! It is especially hard since I have no thumbs. I'm only writing because my brother gave it to me. He is in his chrysalis, and Mum said I should write in it to be polite.

Today my cousin came out of his chrysalis. He won't talk to us, he thinks he's too posh. I feel insulted. I'm hungry. I will go ask Mum to make some leaf cake. I still hate writing diaries. I can't wait until I can pass it on. I hope I'm not a late developer like my brother.
